Aloha to Celebrate Little Victories!

E lawe i ke a'o a mālama a e `oi mau ka na`auao.
Take what you have learned and apply it and your wisdom will increase.

My friend Mary Gramlich, The Reading Reviewer, always reminds me to celebrate little victories.  The new year gives me the excuse to make this a daily routine through this blog.

I've been out of touch with the base community since August.   You might remember that I had a hysterectomy (at this link) and sought a new awakening (at this link).  I've had some success (hormones have balanced) and some setbacks (I've gained weight).   So back to the gym I went.  When I walked in the door, the manager greeted with me with a big smile.  Even though I haven't seen Kehawi in six months, she hugged me as if no day had passed between us.

Kehawi reminded me that we should embrace each day for the beauty it brings.  We should stop to smell the roses, er, hibiscus.   We should celebrate small victories.

Do you have a victory to share?  A proverb, poem, or words of wisdom?   A recipe for success?

I welcome your comments.

Mahalo,

  2. My small victory is that I'm back to walking 4 days a week with some friends and we're up to 3 miles in an hour. We walk in a church so we don't have to deal with the weather and while walking in laps can be boring, it's easier on my allergies.
